Asia Cup 2022: Sri Lanka demolishes Team India and their fans’ desire to enter the finale of the tournament. They beat the Indian team with six wickets, having a weak side as compared to the Indian team. Now India’s roadmap for the finale is not in their hands. 1. Weak Bowling Contingent
The absence of Jasprit Bumrah, Harsha Patel, and Mohammed Shami has affected the most in the ongoing Asia Cup 2022. Deepak Chahar is also on standby rather than in the main squad. Only Bhuvneshwar Kumar is appearing as a senior pacer in the team. His combination with the other two young bowlers is not putting any impact.
Avesh Khan and Arshdeep Singh’s inexperience career got exposed in the high voltage against Pakistan. Although, the experience of Bhuvi is not making any change in the game. In last the two matches, he delivered 19th overs and gave away too many runs. Management does not have such options to change this bowling combination.
2. Absence of Ravindra Jadeja
The presence of Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja was giving tremendous depth to the batting order. But then Jadeja sustained a knee injury, and this disrupts the overall line-up of the Indian team. After his leave, management adds Rishabh Pant as a lefty option. And his arrival changes the batting order in the middle order.
He came to bat earlier than Hardik Pandya but did not bump into anything. Even in Hong Kong, the middle order was struggling. It could be a more run in that match, but the team managed to cross near-par or sub-par totals. The same thing repeats against Pakistan when openers gave a quick start the middle-order failed to turn it big. Against Sri Lanka, the same thing repeats itself.
3. The New Template of Batting Unit
Since the England tour, we have witnessed that Indian batters are going only with a one-way batting approach. It is all about hitting the ball across the field and pushing the opponent on the back foot. It succeeds very well against the English team, but this approach fails in the Asia Cup 2022.
