Asia Cup 2022: Former Indian wicketkeeper-batter and selector Kiran More said that veteran India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin should have played the game against Pakistan on Sunday. His comments came as most of the Indian bowlers were expensive and couldn’t defend 181 as well and handed Pakistan a crucial victory in the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup as well.
More opened up about Ashwin’s batting ability and also his off-spin, which could have been troublesome for the opponents, especially when Pakistan have three left-handers in their top seven as well. He was also surprised to see Deepak Hooda not being given a single over in that high-pressure game.
Meanwhile, Kiran More has also said that the battle between star India batter Virat Kohli and Sri Lanka’s key player Wanindu Hasaranga will be one to watch out for in their next game as well. But with both players having played together for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the IPL, Kiran More doesn’t feel there will be any surprise for Kohli as well.
