Babar Azam will lose his form forever – Former coach warns Pakistan captain

Babar Azam’s form has become a concern for Pakistan ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup in Australia. The 27-year-old couldn’t score much in the Asia Cup 2022, where he played 6 matches for the Men in Green.

In 6 games, he amassed just 68 runs at an average of 11.33, which is one of the worst of his career so far. Babar was uncomfortable against the pacers and spinners in the UAE.

The no.2 batter in the ICC T20I rankings was lambasted for his performance, with Shoaib Akhtar suggesting that he should stop opening for Pakistan and promote Fakhar Zaman for better results.

Speaking on the same lines, former Pakistan coach Mickey Arthur, who shares a close bond with Babar, has urged him to demote himself in the batting order to save his career.

“Babar will lose his form forever if he continues to open for the team,” he said.
