Chilled Rohit Sharma not worried about Asia Cup defeats

Rohit Sharma played down concerns about India’s poor performance ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup in Australia. He said the atmosphere in the dressing room is chilled and relaxed even after two defeats in the Super 4 stage of the Asia Cup 2022.

“You don’t get worried after losing just two matches,” said Rohit. “We don’t talk like this as we won many matches after the ICC T20 World Cup last year, and I don’t think there is any to worry about.”

If Pakistan defeats Afghanistan, the Men in Green will play Sri Lanka in the tournament’s final.

“Everything is fine in the team. It looks like there is a problem from the outside, but I know the reality of being the captain. The boys are chilled and relaxed in the dressing room,” he added.

Chasing 174, Lanka completed the task in the last over with six wickets in hand.

Sharma defended Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who was once again expensive and bowled a costly 19th over. The 35-year-old also defended Arshdeep Singh, who was on the fan’s hit list after dropping a catch of Asif Ali against Pakistan.
