MS Dhoni was replaced by Ravindra Jadeja as CSK’s captain in the Indian Premier League 2022.
However, Jadeja stepped down mid-way, forcing MSD to return back as a skipper.
There was no confirmation whether he would lead in IPL 2023 or not.
Quashing the rumours, CSK CEO Kashi Vishwanath confirmed that Mahi will lead the four-time champions in the 16th season of the tournament.
Dhoni is one of the most successful captains in the history of cash-rich league.
The 41-year-old wicketkeeper has been leading Chennai Super Kings since 2008.
Dhoni wants to play his last IPL game in front of the home crowd.
