Gautam Gambhir has lambasted Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who took 5 wickets and conceded just 4 runs from his 4 overs against Afghanistan. He said Bhuvi’s five-wicket haul shouldn’t be considered while selecting a team for the ICC T20 World Cup as he hasn’t been good in death overs.
He highlighted the bowler’s performance against Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the Super 4 games, where he went for a lot of runs in the 19th over of the innings.
“Don’t take him in the World Cup squad just because he took five wickets against Afghanistan. He is a good bowler with the new ball but hasn’t done well in the last overs. You need bowlers in the team who can be impactful in the death as well. If the team management has already decided to take him to the global event in Australia, it is upto them, but for me, he didn’t have an impressive Asia Cup 2022,” said Gambhir.
