Former Delhi Capitals player accused of raping a minor

Nepal’s star leg-spinner Sandeep Lamichhane has been accused of raping a minor. The victim, who is 17, lodged a complaint against the former Delhi Daredevils ( now Delhi Capitals) spinner.

The Nepal cricket team captain is currently playing in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL).

According to a report on onlinekhabar.com, Kathmandu Valley Police Office chief Rabindra Prasad Dhanuk has stated that the girl has been sent for a medical checkup and the investigation has been launched.

“We are treating the case seriously and the girl has been sent for a medical checkup and the investigation is underway,” says Rabindra Prasad Dhanuk, the Kathmandu Valley Police Office chief.

According to her, she is a fan of Lamichhane and used to talk to him via WhatsApp and Snapchat. It was the player who proposed to meet her.

Sandeep asked her to go on a trip on the eve of the Nepal cricket team’s Kenya departure on September 22. She couldn’t return to her hostel as the gates were closed and was compelled to stay in a Kathmandu hotel.

He has been a part of IPL, CPL, BBL and other famous T20 Leagues in the world. Sandeep has represented Nepal in 30 ODI and 44 T20I for Nepal, picking up 69 wickets and 85 wickets respectively.
