He shouldn’t have been trolled for the drop catch – Arshdeep Singh’s coach hits out at trolls

Indian fast bowler Arshdeep Singh’s coach Jaswant Rai urged people not to troll players.

On Sunday, September 4, Arshdeep faced massive flak on social media after he dropped Asif Ali’s catch in the 18th over of Pakistan’s run-chase in the Asia Cup 2022 Super Four match in Dubai.

Asif Ali went on to score 16 off eight balls with two fours and one six.

“I didn’t expect something like this. He shouldn’t have been trolled for dropping a catch. It’s part and parcel of the game, and India still had the chance to win the contest. Pakistan batters deserve appreciation for how they played/ I request people to watch the game with passion and not troll cricketers,” Rai said to India Today.

“Fans get emotional when India play with Pakistan. The same people praised Arshdeep after he got two wickets in the first game against the Men in Green. Making a big issue of a dropped catch is not right,” he added.
