Rohit Sharma interviewed Virat Kohli after his sensational hundred against Afghanistan. It was Virat’s 71st century in international cricket.
Congratulating his former captain Kohli, Sharma said – “Congratulations, Virat, on your 71st hundred. The entire country was waiting for your hundred. More than India, you were waiting for this ton.”
Acknowledging Rohit’s backing, Virat lauded the team management. “The message from you and other guys in the management was clear. I was told to play freely, which allowed me to perform better in the Asia Cup. When I returned to the team, I was clear about giving important contributions,” said Virat.
“We were exposed to pressure in the Asia Cup 2022. I was given a big break, which played a big role in my magnificent back. I was excited when I came back and wanted to contribute. I aim to try things I can do for the team in the upcoming tournaments,” he added.
Kohli scored 61-ball 122, laced with 12 fours and 6 sixes in the last match of the tournament.
