IND vs PAK: On Sunday, India and Pakistan produced another close game at the Dubai International Stadium. The game went to the wire and ended in the favor of Pakistan. This was the second game between both teams in the ongoing Asia Cup 2022. However, India started really well with both openers carrying on their aggressive approach and taking the attack to the Pakistani bowlers. Earlier, Pakistan won the toss and asked India to bat first.
Both Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul started well for India. Especially, the Indian skipper, who hit Naseem Shah for a boundary on the fourth ball of the first over. Then, he hit a six to end the over and India scored 11 runs off the first over. Then both openers scored nine runs off the second over by Mohammad Hasnain. The third seamer, Haris Rauf, was also treated the same. Rohit welcomed him with a four and a six off the first two balls of his first over.
IND vs PAK: Khusdil Shah and Fakhar Zaman’s miscommunication resulted in a mini-collision -Watch
Both the Indian openers added 50 runs off just 26 balls and were looking very dangerous. But Rauf broke the partnership in his second over, on the first ball of the 6th over of the innings. He bowled a slower delivery and Rohit tried to hit the ball for another six. However, the Indian skipper mistimed the ball and it went miles in the air.
The catch was taken by Khusdil Shah, but it nearly resulted in a collision between him and Fakhar Zaman. The ball went very high, and both fielders ran to catch the ball. Both sat under the ball, but Khusdil completed the catch in the end. However, it looked very weird and they almost collided with each other, which could have been very hurtful for the team. But in the end, Khusdil ended with a good high catch and Rohit was dismissed.
Batting first, India made 181/7 in their 20 overs. Virat Kohli hit his second half-century of the tournament. He made 60 off 44 balls with four boundaries and one six. Chasing the target, Mohammad Rizwan and Mohammad Nawaz led Pakistan to a record-breaking run-chase. Rizwan made 71 off 51, while Nawaz scored 42 off 20 balls. India will have to win their remaining matches against Sri Lanka and Afghanistan. India will play their second game of the “super four” against Sri Lanka on Tuesday at Dubai International Stadium.
