The BCCI announced the squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia. Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel are back in the side. Mohammed Shami is on standby, while Ravindra Jadeja has been ruled out.
Expressing his thoughts on India’s batting, former Pakistan leg-spinner Danish Kaneria said India’s performance would depend on the top three. While Virat Kohli was among the runs, Kaneria has a doubt about the performance of KL Rahul and Rahul Sharma.
He warned the Indian team regarding their form. He said India would fail in the ICC T20 World Cup like Asia Cup if the opening pair didn’t perform for the team.
“While Virat Kohli has returned to form, the likes of Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul are still struggling. Otherwise, their campaign will flop like the Asia Cup,” he said.
India failed to advance to the finals after losing to Pakistan and Sri Lanka at the Super 4 stage of the tournament. The Men in Blue will start their World Cup campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan on October 23.
