India started the Asia Cup 2022 campaign with a win over Pakistan and Hong Kong and qualified for the Super Four. However, things turn bad for Rohit Sharma’s men in the second round. In their first game, they lost to Pakistan by five wickets. They even lost to Sri Lanka by six wickets in the second game of the Super 4 stage.
Former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar feels India didn’t perform that poorly. “India haven’t played all that badly, but they were not fully impressive, and the fans have the right to get frustrated. However, I feel that there is a rise after a fall. India’s exit from Asia Cup 2022 could help them in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia,” Shoaib Akhtar said in a video posted on his YouTube channel.
The Rawalpindi Express has also suggested Rohit to sharpen his captaincy.
“India shouldn’t be disheartened with the ordinary performance, but they must learn from mistakes. India don’t have a chance to qualify for the finals. They need to find their right combination, and Rohit needs to sharpen his captaincy,” he added.
