Jofra Archer, the England pacer, has resumed hitting the nets to begin his quick comeback from his serious back and elbow ailments. In a Royal London One-Day Cup warm-up game for Sussex in July 2021, Archer made his final appearance in competitive cricket. He did not participate in the next T20 World Cup and skipped the event last year in the UAE.
The right-arm pacer, 27 years old, recently began his recovery process and is already back in the Sussex nets. He has been practicing by hitting in the nets, and he is anticipated to fully recover in the next months. But since England is not aiming to hasten his comeback. It is unlikely that the player will play competitive cricket this year.
With 30 wickets in 17 ODIs and 14 in 12 T20I matches, Archer has been exceptional for England in white-ball cricket. He bowled a crucial super over against New Zealand in the 2019 World Cup championship match. Archer’s Sussex partner Steve Finn disclosed that the pacer is back in the nets and making good progress.

He added that England’s physios frequently check in on the player to monitor his development.
Notably, since his Ashes debut in 2019, Archer has also had a significant influence on red-ball cricket. England has played well recently despite losing key pacers, even though he has taken 42 wickets in 13 Test matches. Since Mark Wood and Chris Woakes have missed so many games owing to injuries, the Three Lions have had trouble identifying their strongest pace bowling unit.

In preparation for the 2023 season, Mumbai Indians (MI), the IPL team, also sought the express fast bowler’s services early this year. However, it is yet unclear how the right-arm pacer will be incorporated into the scheme once he returns to full fitness. The team is enjoying their aggressive attitude.
For the national team also, Archer had missed several games, particularly Test matches, when Brendon McCullum and Ben Stokes took over as team captains.
