India’s poor performance in the Asia Cup 2022 has disappointed fans. The Men in Blue lost back-to-back games against Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the Super Four stage of the tournament. The bowling performance was not upto the mark in these games.
In the Super 4 contests, they played with two specialist pacers, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Arshdeep Singh, while using Hardik Pandya as the third fast bowler. Despite Deepak Hooda being in the squad, Rohit Sharma did not use him as a bowler.
Team India also received a lot of criticism for not picking Mohammad Shami, who was in great form for the Gujarat Titans.
Former India pacer Irfan Pathan feels that India should include Shami in the team if they want to win the T20 World Cup in Australia.
“If you are looking for only the new ball, Mohammed Shami is the best bowler in the country. He has in from and has the experience,” he said.
