Pakistan players could have come under threat – Ramiz Raja to lodge a complaint against Afghanistan

Ramiz Raja, the head of the PCB, has reacted strongly to the rowdy behavior of the Afghanistan fans after their team’s defeat against Pakistan.

They went out of control and were seen breaking chairs in Sharjah. Some of the Pakistani supporters were also hit by the objects.

“This hooliganism is unacceptable. The match was a thriller but the visuals after the end of proceedings were worrying. This hasn’t happened for the first time. If you can’t control your emotions, you can’t grow as a nation in sports. We will write a letter to the ICC. Our fans were beaten and even players could have come under threat,” said Ramiz Raja.

For the record, Pakistan won the game by 1 wicket. Naseem Shah hit two successive sixes to book Pakistan’s place in the finale of the Asia Cup 2022.

Earlier, Afghanistan scored 129/6 in the allotted 20 overs. Pakistan will face Sri Lanka in the finale while India will take on Afghanistan is the last match.
