‘Remove Rohit Sharma from captaincy and bring back Virat Kohli as captain of India’

Rohit Sharma has come under fire after India’s elimination from the Asia Cup 2022, following a defeat to Sri Lanka in their second game of the Super 4 stage.

Pakistan journalist Arfa Feroz Zake, who has a habit of criticizing the Indian players, has urged the BCCI to sack Rohit from captaincy and bring back Virat Kohli as captain of the team.

“BCCI has to take a strong decision to remove Rohit Sharma from captaincy. He is not captaincy material. The body language of Rohit Sharma has become a meme. The panic is clearly visible on the face of Rohit Sharma in a pressure situation. Bring back Virat Kohli as captain of India,” he wrote on Twitter.

Meanwhile, Rohit has been one of the most successful captains in T20Is. He has an impressive record among the top leaders in international cricket. His batting has definitely taken a hit, but he continues to take good decisions barring one or two.

Even in the game against Lanka, he contributed with the bat in Dubai. The 35-year-old amassed 72 off 41 balls, laced with 5 fours and 4 sixes, which took the team to 173/8 in 20 overs.

Sharma was disappointed with the batting effort of the middle-order, who couldn’t capitalize on the partnership of Rohit and Suryakumar Yadav.
