Rohit Sharma is a frustrated captain who regularly shouts at his players – Ex-player gives a negative rating to India’s skipper

Afghanistan’s defeat to Pakistan resulted in defending champions India getting eliminated from the Asia Cup 2022.

The Men in Blue were virtually out of the tournament after enduring consecutive defeats to Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the Super 4 stage.

Kl Rahul’s form, weak bowling line-up, and middle order dismay were some of the concerning areas that the team management would work to fix before the all-important T20 World Cup in Australia later this year.

Amid this, another issue within the team is Rohit Sharma’s captaincy. The 35-year-old skipper was criticized for his bad attitude and constantly shouting at his players. Recently, Rohit hogged headlines for turning his back on Arshdeep Singh in the final over against Sri Lanka.

The latest to feel the same is legendary Pakistani seamer Shoaib Akhtar. The 47-year-old said he was unimpressed by Rohit’s captaincy.

Appearing on his YouTube channel, Akhtar said, “Rohit Sharma needs to improve his captaincy skills. He gets frustrated very easily on the ground. He looks very uncomfortable and constantly shouts at his players.”

Shoaib added that India should find their final XI before the World Cup.

“You leave Ravi Bishnoi out after a good match against Pakistan. I don’t understand this strategy. India should take their exit as a wake-up call.”

“The Indian side must not be disheartened. They played well, but I want to see a better captaincy from Rohit Sharma.”
