Pakistan lost the Asia Cup 2022 final to Sri Lanka by 23 runs at the Dubai International Stadium. Mohammad Rizwan was slammed by former players for his slow fifty.
Chasing 171 in the finals, Rizwan scored 55 off 49 balls. Former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar and captain Inzamam-ul-Haq were of Rizwan’s approach.
However, Pakistan head coach Saqlain Mushtaq backed Rizwan and gave a mouth-shuting reply to his former teammates.
“Unki soch hai. Jo bahir log baithe hote hai na wo bahir se cheezon ko dekhte hai aur uske upar baat kar dete hai,” he said.
“They saw the results and made their comments. They don’t have any idea of what’s happening inside the dressing room and the injuries players are carrying,” he added.
“I have worked as an expert for three years and I know how things work. They should work with a cricket team to know about the team bonding.”
