Sri Lanka deserves to win and not Pakistan – Mohammad Rizwan

Sri Lanka defeated Pakistan by 23 runs in the Asia Cup 2022 final at the Dubai International Stadium. They were 58/5 at one stage, but some sensational hitting from Bhanuka Rajapaksa took the team to 170/6 in 20 overs.

He hit 6 fours and 3 sixes and played pacers and spinners with ease throughout his knock. Pakistan wicket-keeper Mohammad Rizwan, who was the Men in Green’s top scorer (55), congratulated the rivals and said Lanka deserved to win and not Pakistan.

“Sri Lanka deserved to win, not us, as they got the momentum in the end. The team with the momentum in the last overs wins the game. Their players were in form throughout the tournament. We are humans and make mistakes,” said Rizwan.

Pramod Madushan (4 wickets), Wanindu Hasaranga (3 wickets), and Chamika Karunaratne (2 wickets) bowled out Pakistan for 147.
