Ahead of India’s Asia Cup 2022 Super 4 stage match against Sri Lanka, former cricketer Virender Sehwag made a bold prediction on who would win this year’s tournament.
Speaking to Cricbuzz, Sehwag stated that the upcoming match for India is most important, considering their defeat in the last contest against Pakistan. He also predicted that Pakistan could lift the trophy.
“If India loses another match, they will be out of the Asia Cup 2022. Pakistan has the advantage because they won the first game of the Super 4 stage and can afford to face a defeat in one of the matches. So, the pressure is on India. Pakistan will play in the final after a long time,” he said.
“This could also be Pakistan’s year,” he further added.
Pakistan last played in the final of the Asia Cup in 2014, when Sri Lanka defeated them by 5 wickets.
