Virat Kohli has entered the record books after scoring his maiden T20I hundred in the game against Afghanistan at the Dubai International Stadium. He is the first player to score a ton in the T20 Asia Cup.
His century after three years came in 53 balls with the help of 11 fours and 4 sixes.
After being promoted to open the innings in Rohit Sharma’s absence in the last game of the Asai Cup 2022, he played strokes freely and didn’t hesitate using the feat against the spinners.
The 33-year-old also shared a 100-plus run partnership with KL Rahul, who scored a well-compiled 62 off 41 balls.
Meanwhile, Kohli ended his three-year century drought and equaled Ricky Ponting in the list of most international hundreds. He now has 71 centuries, with only Sachin Tendulkar (100) ahead of him.
The veteran finished unbeaten on 122 runs off 61 balls, with the help of 12 fours and 6 sixes.
