Former India batting coach Sanjay Bangar has compared Virat Kohli with great Sachin Tendulkar, saying both love the big stage.
Speaking to Star Sports, Bangar said both Kohli and Tendulkar like to contribute when the world is watching them.
“All good batters look up to big tournaments like World Cups as they love the big stage. They love to perform when the world is watching them. They train for big events. It gives them a chance to raise their game. We saw that with Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli is doing the same in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup,” he said.
Bangar said Virat’s role has changed since he played his first World Cup in 2011.
“In his first World Cup, in 2011, he was not assigned the major responsibility. The team was not dependent on him. However, the team revolves around him at the moment,” he added.
