Virat Kohli was not looking confident even after getting set – Inzamam-ul-Haq

India got off to a good start in the Asia Cup 2022 as they defeated Pakistan by five wickets in a nail-biting encounter that went into the last over. Hardik Pandya was the top performer, taking three wickets and scoring a 17-ball-33.

The game also marked the return of Virat Kohli, who was rested for more than a month. He missed the tours to West Indies and Zimbabwe, and the fans expected to see him among runs.

Virat Kohli scored 35 runs from 34 deliveries but never looked comfortable at the crease. Former Pakistan skipper Inzamam-ul-Haq felt that Kohli did not look confident.

“There was a lot of pressure on Kohli. Usually, it is not easy to dismiss a set batter, but I was surprised to see that he was not looking confident despite scoring 35,” Inzamam said on his YouTube Channel.

Inzamam-ul-Haq also praised India’s middle and lower middle order batters but was unhappy with the exclusion of Rishabh Pant from the playing XI.
